Patios. Walkways. Retaining walls. Those old stone walls that started falling over a few winters back. The same family that runs E'Bros Dumpsters out of Auburn does hardscape work too, and we bring our own machines to dig, level and haul. Call and tell us what your yard needs.

Built From the Ground Up

A Patio Is Only as Good as What's Under It

Anybody can lay pavers on dirt. Looks great for one summer. Then a Massachusetts winter freezes the ground, thaws it, freezes it again, and the stones start pushing up and tipping. Ever walked across a patio that wobbles under your feet? Yep. That's why.

So we start in the dirt. We're a hardscape contractor based in Auburn with our own mini excavator and skid steer. That means we dig out, level and prep the ground ourselves instead of waiting around on some other crew. Your patio, walkway or wall goes on ground that's actually ready for it.

Who's we? E'Bros. The owners started at 12 years old, mowing lawns and doing odd jobs around the Auburn area neighborhood they grew up in. Today we're owner operated and fully insured. When you call, you talk to the owner. Dumpsters are still the main thing we do. But the same trucks and the same machines take on yard projects too. Read Our Story.

What We Build

Patios, Walkways and Walls Around Auburn

Most hardscape calls we get land in one of these six piles.

Paver Patios

A flat, solid spot for the grill and the lawn chairs. Square or curved. Tiny, or big enough for the whole crew on the Fourth of July. Tell us how you picture it and we'll talk it through.

Walkways

A path from the driveway to the front door, or out back to the shed, that doesn't turn into a mud pit every April. Walkway pavers set on a real base so they stay put.

Retaining Walls

Got a slope that washes out every time it pours? A retaining wall holds the dirt back. It can turn a hill into flat yard you'll actually use.

Stone Wall Repair

New England is full of old fieldstone walls, and they tip and tumble over time. We can stack the fallen sections back up so it looks like a wall again, not a rock pile.

Ground Prep and Grading

Before anything gets built, the ground gets dug out, leveled and sloped so rain runs away from the house. We handle that part ourselves.

Site grading and prep

Cleanup

Old patio stone, broken concrete, extra dirt. The leftover mess. We run our own dumpsters, so we plan the cleanup right along with the job. You're not left staring at a pile.

A Word on Taller Walls

A short garden wall is one thing. A tall wall holding back a steep hill next to your driveway or your house? Different job. That kind can need a permit or a plan from an engineer. Check with your town's building department before it goes up, and we'll talk the plan through with you when you call.

New England Stone Walls

Old Stone Walls, Put Back Together

Drive any back road between Auburn and Holden and you'll spot them. Fieldstone walls running along yards and off into the woods, lots of them a couple hundred years old. Honestly, they're half of what makes this part of Massachusetts look the way it does.

But frost, tree roots and the odd snowplow knock stones loose every winter. A gap turns into a pile. Leave it long enough and the whole run starts to lean.

We can restack tumbled sections, reset stones that slid out of place and clear the roots that are shoving on the wall. Want a brand new wall built in that same old style? Ask about that too. No two walls are the same, so we'll give you a real answer on time and cost once we've seen yours.

How It Works

From First Call to Finished Yard

No guessing games. Here's how a hardscape job goes with us.

1

Call and Tell Us About the Yard

Ring (833) 854-9997 and tell us what you want built or fixed. A patio. A path. A wall that's falling over. Most yard jobs need a look in person before anybody can give you a real number, so we'll set up a time to come see it.

2

We Dig and Prep the Ground

Before any digging, buried lines get marked through Dig Safe at 811, like Massachusetts law says. Then the mini excavator and skid steer dig out, level and slope the ground so water runs off the right way.

3

We Build It and Clean Up

The patio, walkway or wall goes in on solid ground. We clear out the scraps after and leave the yard ready for the lawn chairs.

A Real E'Bros Job

Not a stock photo. This is a side yard our crew cleared down to bare dirt next to the house. It's not pretty yet. But every patio, path or wall starts right here, with the ground opened up and ready to work.

We can't build on frozen ground, so call before the season you want it done in.

Doing Some of It Yourself?

Clearing Out the Yard First? Rent a Dumpster.

Ripping out an old patio, a cracked walkway or a pile of dirt before the new stuff goes in? Our 10 yard dumpster takes it. $365 for 2 days or $425 for 7 days, and that covers delivery, pickup and the first ton. Stone, concrete and dirt are allowed, but they're heavy and the first ton goes quick, so call first and we'll help you plan. Leaves and grass can't go in.

Auburn Hardscaping Questions, Answered Straight

It's the hard stuff in your yard. Patios, walkways, retaining walls and stone walls, as opposed to grass and plants. A hardscape contractor digs, preps the ground and builds those pieces so they last, and around Auburn that means building them to take freeze and thaw winters without tipping.

Depends on the size, the shape, what it's made of and how much digging the spot needs. A small square patio on flat ground and a big curved one on a slope are two totally different jobs. We don't post prices for yard work because no two yards are alike. Call (833) 854-9997 and tell us about yours.

We do. A retaining wall is often the fix for a slope that keeps washing out, or a yard that's more hill than lawn. Planning a tall one near the house or the driveway? Check with your town about permits first, and we'll talk the plan through when you call.

Usually. A fieldstone wall that tipped over can often be restacked with the same stones that fell off it. Some walls are too far gone or missing too many stones, and if yours is one of them we'll say so. We'd need to see it first.

Any time the ground isn't frozen. Around here that's spring through fall. Start talking to us in early spring and you could be out on the new patio by summer. Call ahead so you're not stuck waiting when the nice weather finally shows up.

Sure can. We own a mini excavator and a skid steer, so the digging, grading and ground prep get done by the same family that builds the patio or wall. Our site grading and excavation pages cover that side of the work.

We're based in Auburn and we work in Worcester, Boylston, Charlton, Oxford, Webster, Holden, Paxton, Leicester, Rochdale and Millbury. Close to one of those but not sure you're covered? Just call and ask.

You bet. Dumpsters are our main business. Our 10 yard can is 11 feet long, 8 feet wide and 4 feet tall, and it's great for old patio stone, dirt and cleanouts. It's $365 for 2 days or $425 for 7 days with delivery, pickup and the first ton included. Over a ton runs $150 per ton, prorated. Leaves and grass can't go in.
