Excavation Contractor in Auburn, MA

Need an excavation contractor in Auburn for a smaller job? A trench. A stump. That back corner of the lot that went wild years ago. We show up with a mini excavator and a skid steer, dig what needs digging, and leave the yard the way we agreed.

Compact Excavation

Small Machines. Real Digging.

The owners started out at 12 years old, mowing lawns and doing odd jobs around the same Auburn area neighborhood they grew up in. Today E'Bros is owner operated. When you call, you talk to the owner, and the owner is on your job too. We hold a Massachusetts hoisting license, and we run our own mini excavator and skid steer. That's what this page is about. Read Our Story.

We're a residential excavation contractor in Auburn, plain and simple. Backyards. Side lots. Driveways. A line that needs a trench. Big jobs like a new road or a commercial site need big machines, and if yours is one of those we'll tell you. For everything else a small machine is usually the smarter pick, because it's lighter on your lawn and it squeezes into spots a full size excavator never could. You can see the rest of what we do on our services page.

What We Dig

Auburn Excavation Work Sized for Your Yard

Most of our digging happens at houses and small lots in Auburn and around Worcester County. Here's what that looks like.

Trenching

Narrow trenches for drain pipe and buried lines. Putting in sprinklers? That's on our irrigation page.

Footings and Small Foundations

Holes for deck footings. Room for a shed or a small addition. Bring the plan from your builder and we'll walk through it together.

Pads and Bases

We dig out the base for a patio, a walkway or a shed pad. Want the stone laid too? That's on our hardscaping page.

Shrub and Root Removal

Overgrown hedges. Dead bushes. Root balls the size of a tire. The machine yanks them out so you don't lose a whole weekend to a shovel.

Backfill

Old holes, low spots, the trench once the pipe is in. We push the dirt back where it belongs and firm it up.

Rough Grading

Shaping the ground so rain runs away from your house, not into the basement. Bigger jobs live on our site grading page.

Spray painted utility lines and marker flags on a lawn before digging
Before Anybody Digs

Massachusetts law says buried utility lines have to be marked before anyone digs. That's the Dig Safe system. It's free. You call 811, and the request goes in a few business days ahead. One catch, though. Dig Safe only marks the utility company's lines, so tell us about the private ones too. Think a power line out to the garage or an old sprinkler system.

Land Clearing

Land Clearing and Stump Removal in Auburn

Every town around Auburn has one. The back corner of a lot nobody's touched in twenty years, full of saplings, bittersweet vines and old stumps along an old stone wall.

We clear it with the mini excavator. That's our machine in the photo, working behind a fieldstone wall. Saplings, stumps and roots come out. And you get your yard back. Want the ground smoothed out after? We can rough grade it too.

Digging up dirt, rock or an old patio along the way? A 10 yard dumpster in the driveway gives the heavy stuff somewhere to go while we work.

How It Works

How a Dig Job Works

No thick bid package. Just a phone call and a straight answer.

1

Call and Tell Us About the Job

Call (833) 854-9997. Tell us what needs digging, clearing or pulling, how big the area is, and how a machine gets back there. The more we know, the closer the price fits the job.

2

We Bring the Machine

On the day we set, we trailer the mini excavator or the skid steer over and get going.

3

Debris Out, Yard Left Right

Dirt and rock go in a dumpster or a pile. Your call. We leave the spot the way we agreed before the first scoop.

Want a dumpster on site for the mess? Ask when you call and we'll time the drop off with the dig.

Mini excavator pulling an old tree stump and roots, stump removal in Auburn, MA

Stump Removal

A stump in the middle of the lawn? Mower trap. We dig around it, pull it out with the excavator, big roots and all, and fill the hole back in. Got three or four of them? We'll knock them all out in one trip.

Drainage trench with pipe and stone dug away from a house foundation

Drainage Trenches

Picture the first warm week in March. The snow's melting and the water's pooling right up against your foundation again, same as last year, and you're out there with a broom pushing it away from the door. A lot of the time the fix starts with a trench, some pipe and some stone to carry that water somewhere better. We dig it. Tell us what's going on and we'll tell you straight if it's a job for us.

Dumpster Rental

Got Debris? Add a 10 Yard Dumpster.

Dumpsters are what we do most. Our 10 yard runs $365 for 2 days or $425 for 7 days, and delivery, pickup and the first ton are all included. Go over a ton and it's $150 per ton, prorated. Dirt, rock, concrete and old patio stone can all go in. They get heavy fast and the first ton goes quick, so call first and we'll help you plan the load.

Every yard's different, so there's no sticker price. It comes down to how much digging there is, how much rock is down there, how far back the machine has to go, and where the dirt and debris end up. Call (833) 854-9997, tell us what you've got, and you'll have a real number for your job before we start.

Massachusetts law says buried utility lines have to be marked before anyone digs, and Dig Safe is the free system that handles it. You reach it by calling 811. The request goes in a few business days before the dig, and we'll work out the timing with you when you book. One catch. Dig Safe only marks the utility company's lines, so tell us about private ones too, like a power line to a garage or an old sprinkler system.

Homes and small sites. Backyards, side lots, driveways, drainage runs, stumps, footings for a deck or a shed. We run a mini excavator and a skid steer, so we're not the crew for a big commercial dig or a new road. Not sure where yours lands? Call and ask. If it's too big for us, we'll say so.

Usually, yeah. That's the whole point of a small excavator. It fits through spots a full size machine can't, and it's easier on the grass. Gates, steep slopes and a septic system in the path all matter, so tell us about the way in when you call.

We do. We dig around the stump and pull it with the excavator, roots and all, then fill the hole back in. Got several? We can knock them out in one trip. What to do with big stumps after is something we'll go over with you on the phone.

Dirt, rock and concrete can go in one of our 10 yard dumpsters. That's $365 for 2 days or $425 for 7 days, first ton included, then $150 per ton, prorated. Heavy stuff adds up fast, so call before you load it and we'll help you plan. And sometimes the dirt just stays put for backfill.
