How Big Is a 13 Yard Dumpster?
11 × 8 × 4 = 352 cubic feet ÷ 27 = about 13 cubic yards
Ours is 11 feet long, 8 feet wide and 4 feet tall. Multiply that out and you get 352 cubic feet. A cubic yard is 27 cubic feet, so 352 divided by 27 comes to about 13 cubic yards.
What does that look like in real life? About 3 to 4 full pickup truck loads, which is 3 or 4 sweaty trips to the dump you don't have to make with the tailgate down and a tarp flapping in the wind on Route 12.
And those 4 foot walls are short on purpose. You can lift a bag over the side without a ladder.

How to Load 13 Yards the Right Way
Nothing over the top. Load it level with the top of the walls, because we cover the load for the ride to the dump. If stuff sticks up over the sides, we can't cover it.
Put the big flat pieces in first, like old doors, plywood and tabletops. Then fill the gaps with bags and smaller stuff. It's wild how much more fits that way.
